Colour is very important in floors because a change in colour can mean a change in character, size and 'mood'. These are a few 'tips' and 'rules' to follow when creating your very own unique design:
 
Vertical stripes make things longer; horizontal stripes make them broader
 
Bright colours seem even brighter next to a complimentary colour.
 
Blue can make a space bigger and cooler; Red can make it smaller and warmer
Warm colours are: red, orange, yellow, pink, brown
Cool colours are: green, blue-green; blue, purple
 
Dark colours make a space smaller; light colours make it bigger
A dark floor and a light ceiling and walls provide a powerful base for furniture
