Dear FLOR by heuga
I recently moved into my new house. As this was a temporary rental property I decided not to invest in a wall to wall carpet. I wanted to put my own stamp on my new home and try to break up the hard floor downstairs. I saw an advert for FLOR by heuga in a magazine and I was really intrigued so went to look on your website. On the website I was inspired by all the different designs and the opportunity to be creative on the floor, which was a new concept for me. I decided that I wanted to create a unique rug under my dining room table and decided that I could create something by combining different tile designs and colours. I ordered some samples to select the best combinations and sketched my ideas. I ordered 5 different tiles which I felt looked stylish together and worked with my new design scheme in my dining room. I ordered the tiles online and within a week I had received the tiles to my home and installed them myself using double sided tape to secure them. To my amazement, my dog Snoopy was so thrilled with the new rug and he ran straight to it and has barely moved since as he is really comfortable relaxing on it - see photo included. We are both very pleased with the result! Now I have created this rug I am delighted to have my own unique design and I am now keen to take on a larger project and do something stylish in another room!
Yours faithfully, Karin
Wow - Zebra themed bedroom
FLOR by heuga carpet tiles used: Animals&Minerals in Zebra
I saw the tiles at the BBC Good Homes Show and thought they were great. This got me thinking as to how I could use them at home. I felt it would be too much to use them on the entire floor, but it would be cool to put them on the wall as a main feature in the room. As my doughter is animal mad, I knew she would love the idea. I thought the zebra was proberbly the most realistic of the tiles and the others would be too colourful for what I wanted to do.
I grabbed an image of the tile from the website and mapped it onto the computer 3d model of the room to get the overall effect. The black and white of the tile was easy to balance with another colour. We looked at lime green, cyan, deep yellow and the orange. All looked great, but we went with the orange.
The other walls are white and a very pale grey, (to give warmth) and contrast. In order to be a bit more conventional, I also used the tiles on the floor in the en suite/walk-in wardrobe area. Again, to great effect. With the stripes, not much else needed doing.
We have a couple of framed zebra pictures on the opposite wall to tie everything together and Ashira has a few striped bits and bobs.
Everybody loves the room and she is the envy of all her friends. Phil Mellor, Leeds, United Kingdom |

Caterpillar Design on the Floor
FLOR by heuga carpet tiles used: PuzzlePieces in colours Biscuit, Indigo, Rosemary and Mink
| I created this floor for my niece's bedroom using PuzzlePieces in the folowing colours - Biscuit, Indigo, Rosemary and Mink. The caterpillar design on the floor was a direct copy of a picture on the wallpaper border in her bedroom. Using carpet tiles like this is a great way to coordinate the room and create a fun atmosphere. Drawing the design on the tiles and cutting the tiles was a bit tricky. I spent a whole day drawing each section of the caterpillar onto paper then had to cut very carefully and make sure to get it all to match up but it was definitely worth it to get such a great result. My niece was thrilled and really loves it! Sharon Hart, Hertfordshire, UK | Giraffe Print Floor in Nursery
FLOR by heuga carpet tiles used: Animals & Minerals in colour Giraffe
We have just finished decorating our new nursery and we used FLOR by heuga carpet tiles in this really fun giraffe design.
We wanted something fun and different and came across the Animals & Minerals range on the FLOR by heuga website. We are really pleased with the floor. My partner fitted the tiles in an afternoon and he said it was pretty easy to do for anyone that is ok at DIY. I was a bit concerned that you would be able to see each square but that isn't the case and you can just see the overall giraffe pattern which looks really fun.
Next I am planning to do our other bedroom in the Cow design for our daughter as she thinks the nursery looks great.
Daisy Design in Coloured Carpet Tiles
FLOR by heuga carpet tiles used: SimplySoft in colours Diving, Algae, Fog, Sunny, Aquarius.
| This is a picture of my daughter’s bedroom. My daughter’s name is Daisy and I wanted to do something special in her bedroom and designed the theme personally for her. I used a few different colours of carpet tiles from the SimplySoft range. For the main blue area I used colour Diving. The stem is colour Algae, the petals are in colour Fog (closest I could get to white). The centre of the daisy is colour Sunny. Towards the bed I drew and cut a moon in Fog and a star in colour Aquarius. I did the template for this design using a dinner plate (centre of the daisy) the weighing tray from my scales (for the petals) and then drew the stalk and leaves by hand. It is nice to be able to do something unique in the bedroom and not many people seem to do something interesting on the floor so I’m really pleased with this and my daughter thinks it’s really cool. | |
Fun with Numbers - 123's Carpet Tiles
FLOR by heuga carpet tiles used: 123's in Primary colours and PuzzlePieces in Amaryllis and Indigo
The 123's range is a new package of 12 tiles 3m2 which is designed to be combined with the PuzzlePieces range in colours Amaryllis and Indigo. In the package you receive numbers 1-10 and symbols 'x' and '+'. These tiles are great for kids' bedrooms, playrooms, nurseries and playgroups. It is great to create a stimulating environment for kids and we often forget to brighten up the space under our feet, but this package is a great way to do that. Here the tiles are installed in random directions and combined with solid colours of PuzzlePieces in random places. London, UK

| Fabulous flooring that's practical too! |
FLOR by heuga carpet tiles used: DayDream in colour Cotton

DayDream carpet tiles from Heuga are a real surprise, I always thought of carpet tiles as office flooring and would never have considered them for my home until I saw the FLOR by heuga catalogue and website. I wanted a soft, natural and modern texture for my newly extended sitting room and DayDream does the job perfectly. It looks and feels like carpet (our friends and family can't believe it isn't) and was so easy to lay we did it ourselves. As tiles can be switched around or replaced when they get dirty they are a practical option in a room like ours which has direct access from the garden.

Additional husbands notes: We weren't sure in what pattern to lay the tiles, so made a few alternative grids (4 x 4 tiles), one in random, and one where all the arrows point in the same direction (you call it 'monolithic'). We finally chose monolithic. We also followed the fitting instructions and laid out a vertical column and a horizontal row in order to line up the edges, then we filled in the full tiles. The edge tiles were measured by flipping the tile over and sliding it under the adjacent tile and then scribing the back. I then used a sharp knife and steel edge (spirit level) to cut the tile. I had a few difficulties cutting the corners and around the door architrave, but I only wasted 1 tile.

| Combining Soft and Solid Modular Flooring - Trendy Apartment |
FLOR by heuga ranges used: SmartSteps in colour Bubinga and SoftSisal in colour Grassland
Many people are renting apartments these days and most people are having to put up with hard floors which can be cold, noisy and gather great clumps of dust on the surface. Heuga modular flooring is ideal for apartment living - packed in boxes that you can easily carry rather than unwieldy rolls of carpet and it is easy to lift the tiles when you move out leaving the solid flooring unharmed underneath. This trendy apartment has been transformed with a combination of solid vinyl tiles SmartSteps and chunky textured SoftSisal carpet tiles. The Bubinga SmartSteps tiles are really stylish and like nothing I've seen before in a walnut type design, with a coppery look to them. The combination of the two finishes looks great and very modern in keeping with the look of the apartment.

| Soft Natural Flooring. |
FLOR by heuga carpet tiles used: DayDream in colour Silk

DayDream is a lovely flooring product from Heuga. The natural colours and soft texture make this a really smart and modern floor. With young children and a young puppy, carpet tiles are a great alternative to normal carpet because it is so easy to clean a tile or even replace it if it becomes stained or damaged. I wouldn’t dare have such a light coloured floor if it wasn’t tiles, for fear that it would be ruined. Everyone seems to be going for light natural colours these days and this is a really practical solution that is also modern and stylish. I am really impressed with Heuga flooring and it is great to see some new distinctive flooring products. |

| TV Makeover Stories |
I love that floor - Heuga is a big hit on ITV 60 Minute Makeover FLOR by heuga carpet tiles used: Animals & Minerals in colour WaterWorld and PuzzlePieces in colours Mink, Smoke and Oriental.
ITV's 60 Minute Makeover featured Heuga flooring in 2 of the children's rooms: Animals & Minerals in colour WaterWorld and PuzzlePieces in Mink, Smoke and Oriental .
Vicky organised the makeover for her family to create a better environment for the family to live in. Vicky and Gary have three sons, twins Rees and Regan and Finn. The family have suffered with injury and illness and Vicky wanted to surprise Gary and their children with a fabulous new transformation in their home.
ITV's interior designer John Amabile chose Animals & Minerals in colour WaterWorld for the twins' bedroom. This flooring features a fabulous bubbly theme which is perfect for bringing a room to life. On the show John explained that these tiles are perfect for kids' rooms as they're so easy to keep clean and can be easily replaced if say a child spills a drink on the floor.
On entering the transformed room, presenter Terri Dwyer exclaimed 'I love the floor!'
The family were thrilled with all the changes in the house and when they entered the twins' room Gary also announced 'I love the floor!' Terri explained the squares are a good practical choice for children's rooms.
See below for another picture of this fabulous bubbly flooring.

PuzzlePieces is a great design for ITV's 60 Minute Makeover
FLOR by heuga carpet tiles used: PuzzlePieces in colours Oriental, Mink and Smoke.
The second bedroom featured on the show was Finn's bedroom. Two year old Finn has Cerebral Palsy and his bedroom was transformed with a fantastic racing car theme.
Interior designer John Amabile created stripes in 3 colours of PuzzlePieces in colours Oriental, Mink and Smoke (dark red, dark grey and light grey). This created a smart soft look that was appropriate to the racing car theme. A practical and stylish choice, carpet tiles are great for creating something unique, which can be as simple or as flamboyant as you like.
Unfortunately the image from the show doesn't show much of the floor, but see below for two fun designs (one stripey and one hopscoth) created using Simplysoft carpet tiles in colours Beach, Wild Dreams, Diving, Fog and Caribbean.

Bedroom makeover on Property Ladder FLOR by heuga carpet tiles: LuxuryLiving in colour Ice Cream and FunkyFeet in colour Onyx
We were renovating a run down art deco house to a very high standard and wanted a quality contemporary flooring upstairs. We chose Heuga carpet tiles because they have that "wow" factor which we were looking for. They were perfect to put onto the solid oak flooring which we were anxious to preserve but wanted the warmth and luxury of carpet on the floors.
Living room makeover on Property Ladder FLOR by heuga carpet tiles: FunkyFeet in colour Onyx
They were fitted easily and quickly and have not damaged the flooring beneath them at all. The added benefit of carpet tiles is that if, or should I say when, our two year old son does some irreparable damage to part of the carpet in his room we won't need to replace the whole lot - a tile or two will certainly work out much cheaper. Also we are thinking of maybe integrating some different colour tiles in some of the rooms to make a truely funky and different look. With carpet tiles the possibilities are endless and we can change the look whenever we wish for little effort and expense. We are absolutely thrilled with the finished product.
Thanks.

| Combining Colours to Create Flooring Patterns. |
Colourful Flooring at Kingfisher PreSchool, Marlow
FLOR by heuga carpet tiles used: WalkWay Mosaic in colour Volcano
Thank you for all your help in arranging the order of the new floor tiles for the children's story room at Kingfisher Pre-School. As you can see from the enclosed photographs, the room looks bright and cheery and the children love it.
Thank you from all at the Kingfisher Pre-School, Marlow, Bucks.
WalkWay Mosaic is a very hardwearing product particularly suitable for areas of heavy use and where spillage is likely. There are 3 colour combinations available in the WalkWay Mosaic collection each comprising 3 bright colours so you can create stripes, chequerboard or a pattern of your choice. Alternatively you can buy individual colours from the WalkWay range.
Soft Rug Effect to Create Separate Dining Space
FLOR by heuga carpet tiles used: PuzzlePieces in colours Cream, Biscuit, Mauve, Indigo and Delft
| This is the dining area in my home before I laid any carpet tiles. My house is open plan downstairs with the living room leading into the dining room space.
I wanted to create a separately defined area for eating and I read somewhere that carpet tiles were a great solution for zoning and defining a separate area in the home.
The whole of the downstairs area is laminate floor so it was pretty boring before I added some colour and softness with the carpet tiles in nice modern shades of cream and blue. |
I ordered 2m2 (8 tiles) of five colours from the Puzzle Pieces range so I had 40 tiles to play with. I tried out a few different layouts including stripes, chequerboard and random patterns.
I read in the Design Assistant section of the Heuga website that different patterns have an effect on how you view a room and it was interesting to see how different the room looked with the different designs.
I finally settled for a nice pattern using all the colours. I used some of the left over tiles in the living room to create a rug in there as it breaks up the laminate flooring and adds a bit of colour to the room. Again I simply laid them on the laminate flooring and stuck them down with double sided tape.
I am really pleased with the rug I designed as it separates the dining area and brightens up the whole space. I enjoyed trying out different patterns with the carpet tiles before settling on the final one and sticking the tiles down with double sided tape.
If I fancy a change I can simply move the tiles around which is really neat! |

| WoodWork from FLOR by heuga - perfect soft replacement for Laminate Flooring. |
FLOR by heuga carpet tiles used: WoodWork in colour Oak

I am really pleased with our new floor from Heuga. Previously we had laminate flooring throughout our living room, but this was cold and hard. With this stylish modular flooring we have a great wood-effect look, but with all the benefits of soft flooring. It is ideal for our kids to play on as it is warm and soft. In the picture this is me with my daughters Amy and Katy who love their new play area. Because it is soft, it is also quieter and safer so I can leave them to play safely in peace. The laminate flooring was difficult to keep clean with the constant accumulation of dust and cat hairs, but this is no longer a problem and I just vacuum the floor as normal. At first, I was reluctant to buy carpet tiles as I thought they would be old fashioned, but the Heuga website is really inspiring and their products are really modern and trendy. I would certainly recommend them especially the WoodWork range which is a really stylish design.
